Cats are more susceptible to onion toxicity than dogs. All forms of onion (raw, cooked, powdered, dehydrated) are dangerous. Even small amounts in baby food, broth, or seasoning can be harmful over time. Garlic, chives, shallots, and leeks are also toxic.

  • Lethargy
  • Pale or bluish gums
  • Dark urine
  • Decreased appetite
  • Rapid breathing
