Bananas provide potassium, vitamins, biotin, fiber, and copper. They are low in cholesterol and sodium. However, due to high sugar content, bananas should be an occasional treat rather than a regular part of the diet. Frozen banana slices make great summer treats. The peel is not toxic but is difficult to digest and should be removed.
