Can Dogs Eat Cooked Bones?

Cooked bones splinter and can puncture the digestive tract.

Details

Cooking changes the structure of bones, making them brittle and prone to splintering into sharp fragments. These fragments can cause choking, puncture the mouth, throat, stomach, or intestines, and create life-threatening blockages. Chicken, turkey, and pork bones are especially dangerous when cooked. Raw bones are generally safer but still carry risks.
