Salmon provides omega-3 fatty acids that support skin, coat, immune system, and joint health. Always serve fully cooked — never raw or undercooked, as raw salmon can contain the parasite Neorickettsia helminthoeca, causing potentially fatal salmon poisoning disease. Remove all bones. Canned salmon (in water, no salt) is also safe. Salmon oil supplements are a popular alternative.
